Are Christians supposed to hate Homosexuals?

< STRONG No. Instead, they are supposed to love them.

However, we are not supposed to commend the sin. It is clear that Jesus is against sin, but not the sinner.

Is having gay thoughts specifically sinful?

< No. But if you promote it, it is.

It’s just like having angry thoughts. But you must control it.

And it might be the sign that your “detector” part of the brain is not functioning properly.

Differences

Being gay and doing gay things are two different things. If you were born in such a way that you found the opposite sex attractive, then that's not a sin. The moment you sin is when you actually sleep with the opposite sex.

Don't think that's fair? I think it is because just as a male heterosexual have to control his impulsive sexual desires, so does a homosexual male has to too.

Why is it fair that a homosexual can sleep with others all he wants and a heterosexual has to hold himself to marriage to his only wife?

>> But Jesus said commandments that raise up the standard.

For example, if you’re angry at your brother, then you have already murdered, or if you lusted after a woman, you commited adultery.

< WEAK These are higher standards, but just because you didn’t follow them, it doesn’t mean you’ve sinned.

No where did Jesus say a person has sinned by thinking certain things.

>> STRONG  No, Jesus said that you’ve already committed the sin when you had the thought.

< STRONG According to the Old Testament, it’s not.

The laws were less strict in the sense it didn’t limit your thoughts. However, once you committed the act, according to the OT, you’re liable for death. That’s where it’s strict.

Is Homosexuality worse than other sins?

< Not necessarily. However, there are worse sins than others.

Just because homosexuality is famous in this culture, doesn’t mean that other sins are not as bad.

Are Christians supposed to say to Homosexuals “you’ll go to hell”?

< STRONG No. We are not to judge. (Biblical)

Mat 7:1  Don't condemn others, and God won't condemn you.

Mat 7:2  God will be as hard on you as you are on others! He will treat you exactly as you treat them. (CEV)

However, we are not supposed to commend the sin. It is clear that Jesus is against sin, but not the sinner.

How Would you Define Genuine Homosexual Being?

< STRONG  A genuine desire to have sex with the same gender.

>> Attracted to the same sex

< But that definition isn’t viable since it doesn’t reveal homosexuality acts we are familiar with.

Is Genuine Homosexual Feelings a Sickness?

< STRONG Yes. It's a psychological disorder

The body is designed to reproduce. Stick doesn’t go with stick and hole doesn’t go with hole.

Neither does penis go into the anus to produce a child. That won’t work either.

The average brain provides a natural urge to point the heterosexuals to the right mates. Therefore, the mind has a “detector” and “incentives”.

And this is how the human race has reproduced.

But if something is wrong with this “detector” and “incentives”, what results is genuine homosexual feelings.

In addition, if the brain has a desire for the same sex, they will not reproduce. That’s a fact.

Therefore having homosexual feelings means an ill brain.

Does the Bible approve of Homosexuality?

< STRONG  No. God even gave His view on it (Biblical)

Lev. 18:22, "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination."

Lev. 20:13, "If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltness is upon them."

This OT Scripture is still Relevant.

Now why is it that I bring in the OT, where we live in the NT? Because the OT actually gives God’s opinion on such a matter. It’s one of the rare cases that God gives a law with an opinion. For most other commands, such as a woman having to wash herself after her period, God doesn’t say it’s detestable to disobey this instruction.  It’s really just a few laws that God states his view on such a violation.

Strong View

And here, it’s such a strong view, that it’s an abomination,   disgusting, even detestable to have sex with another man as one would a female.

So, if God gives his view in the OT, do we think his view would change in the NT? Nope. It’s easy to see the OT regulatory laws change, but not God’s view.
